Initially I thought the reefs must be small islands dotting the coast, but as we got lower, I could see that all those “islands” were actually reefs. But snorkelling from a boat 30 miles out to sea, then viewing the incredible coral and fish and learning how they all work with each other to build a complicated working system…well, I am simply amazed at God’s handiwork.

My cheap camera didn’t take as nice pictures as I had hoped, so trust my descriptions.

Our day trip to Cape tribulation and the Daintree rainforest was brimming full of adventure, not least of which was our Aussie guide’s um…suicidal stunt driving on the narrow, winding roads. All in one day, we visited the Rainforest Habitat Wildlife Sanctuary, Mossman Gorge, Wonga Beach (spectacular!), and a Crocodile Cruise on the Daintree River And yes, we did spot a big one.

As Monday was Fred’s last day in Queensland, we decided to splurge. We though about doing Hot Air Ballooning, on the tablelands but we decided on mingin swinging.
